Kabul: Three journalists were wounded on Wednesday during ongoing clashes between Taliban and Pakistani forces at the Torkham border crossing, local sources reported.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the journalists sustained injuries when mortar fire struck the area where they were reporting.
The injured journalists have been identified as Azizul Hassan Naamani, a correspondent for Radio Hurriyat; Wali Mohammad Shinwari, a journalist from Pajhwok News Agency; and Hedayatullah, a reporter for Shamshad TV.
Fighting between Taliban and Pakistani troops has persisted intermittently for the past three days, with hostilities escalating again on Wednesday afternoon, March 5.
There is no official information yet on the condition of the injured journalists or the extent of their wounds.
So far, neither the Taliban nor Pakistani authorities have issued statements regarding the incident.
